About KLA:
The Kansas Library Association was founded in December of 1900, when 23 librarians attended an organizational meeting and elected the first president, James L. King of Topeka. Since then, the association has met annually (with the exception of the years 1918 and 1943) to facilitate the acquisition of needed skills and expand opportunities for professional development within the library community. After a name change to Indiana Library Association and organizing the Indiana Library Trustee Association in the early twentieth century, the two organizations merged in 1990 to be renamed Indiana Library Federation.
ILF is the statewide nonprofit organization for all library types: academic, public, school, special, and library supporters. It is the largest organization of its kind in Indiana, boasting more than 2,000 personal, institutional, library trustee, and business affiliate contributing members. ILF is laser focused on helping libraries and their staff thrive.

We work to highlight the importance of plants within zoos and aquariums, and seeks to support the horticulturists and gardeners who work in a zoological setting. We are a support network for zoo and aquarium personnel without training or background in plant science, but find themselves performing the work.
